Recipe Shirin's step-by-step recipe for an excellent Cocoa Halwa Roll.

    Step 1

    INGREDIENTS: ☑️ 1 cup sugar + 2 tbsp ☑️ 2 cups plain flour ☑️ 50g unsalted butter ☑️ 1 cup coconut powder ☑️ 2/3 cup oil ☑️ 2 tbsp cocoa powder ☑️ 1 cup milk

    Step 2

Boil one cup of milk and TURN OFF THE HEAT. Mix two tbsp sugar with cocoa powder and add it to the milk. Then add one cup of sugar and mix well. Put it aside for cooling.

    Step 3

Fry two cups of plain flour in a non-stick pan over LOW HEAT. Stir it constantly for about 30 minutes until the colour of the flour change to goldish.

    Step 4

After that, add 2/3 cup oil and mix well. Then add 50g unsalted butter and mix it.

    Step 5

Add cocoa and sugar mixture in two steps and mix well until it sticks together.

    Step 6

Let it chill a bit. Cut one side and bottom of a 6L freezer plastic and place it on a 33X33cm tray.

    Step 7

Spread the mixture all over the tray and press it very well. Add coconut powder to it, then roll it slowly from one side. (Do not roll it with plastic.) Rap it to the plastic and put it with the tray in a fridge for 2-4 hours or overnight.

    Step 8

After 2-4 hours, bring it back from the fridge and open the plastic. Cut the roll with a sharp knife for approximately 16 pieces.

    Step 9

    Serve and enjoy!
